Upcoming Services & Sermons

Mennonites aren’t really best known for a fiery zeal for the Holy Spirit; and with all the bad press our fellow Christians have given the Holy Spirit, we can’t blame each other. Christians tend to cause more harm than good when we think of the Spirit as either a personal magic within us, validating our ego-driven desire to transcend, or as a liturgical lapdog who comes when called and turns the Spirit-filled life into a spectacle. This summer we are going to linger in the mystery of Pentecost and the role of the Holy Spirit. The day of Pentecost reveals a God stooping low into solidarity with all of us in our unique particularities, speaking through the collective; disrupting and reorienting us toward a new humanity that embodies justice before the world. First, the Spirit rushes in like a violent wind and unsettles the certainties that separate us from Mystery. God pours out the Spirit – gives himself away – and suddenly: prophesies and visions, dreams and holy fire. Let’s gather together and peer over the edge of ourselves toward our shared longing to be unraveled and enchanted anew. And what if we weren’t focussed on a pursuit of a personal and disembodied Spirituality but on a collective surrender and curiosity for the Living Mystery that disrupts, unsettles, and enlivens us to inhabit this wonder-filled place?

Regular Programming

Adult Bible Study

Runs September to June

Our Adult Bible Study meets at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays, before the worship service. Together, we explore scripture through open and thoughtful discussion—seeking to understand its original context and how it applies to life today. The group reflects a true “priesthood of all believers” atmosphere, where participants take turns facilitating and everyone contributes to the conversation. We are currently using the Salt & Light curriculum from Menno Media.
